Andrew S.E. Erickson, U.S. Consul General in Tijuana

The American Consulate General in Tijuana is pleased to announce the arrival of Andrew S.E. Erickson as the new Consul General.  Mr. Erickson will be serving in Tijuana for the next three years. 

As Consul General, Mr. Erickson oversees the Consulate and its activities in the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur.  A career diplomat, Mr. Erickson joined the Department of State in 1990.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Erickson has worked on political, economic and multilateral affairs.  He’s also worked on refuge and migratory affairs.  In addition to service in U.S. Embassies in Algeria, the Seychelles Islands, Panama, Bolivia and Colombia, Erickson has also worked on European refugee issues at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels and with international organizations in Geneva at the U.S. Mission there.  In Washington he has served as Deputy Director for Haiti in the Office of Caribbean Affairs.

Mr. Erickson’s most recent overseas assignment was as the Senior Civilian Representative at Regional Platform South West in Afghanistan, responsible for non-military operations in South West Afghanistan. 

Mr. Erickson is a history graduate of Brown University, and has a Master’s of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington, DC.  He and his wife Cyrille have two grown daughters.  He is from Oakland, California.
