“The World Water Forum is held every three years, and is the largest international conference dedicated to solving water issues. The Forum began on March 16 here in Mexico City and will adjourn on March 22,” said Ambassador Antonio O. Garza.
“The U.S.-Mexico Watergy program demonstrates our commitment to share the benefits of water conservation technology. This important initiative will permit the city of Matamoros and other municipalities in the state of Tamaulipas to conserve water using the latest technology,” added Garza.
“Our water conservation partnerships and agreements with Mexico can serve as a model for countries seeking to share water resources.”
“Jacqueline Schafer serves as administrator of the Watergy program on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development, and has opened our information booth at the World Water Forum. We all have a vested interest in a successful World Water Forum outcome, and I urge everyone who cares about the future of available, clean water to visit our booth and study the international partnerships we are building and strengthening,” said Garza.
“The United States sent 26 official delegates representing nine government agencies and nearly 50 U.S. government technical experts to the Forum to share information, offer technical assistance, and collaborate with some of the world’s experts on water issues,” Garza added.
