The infant daughter of a murder victim has been recovered safely, thanks to cooperation between U.S. and Mexican law enforcement officers,” announced Ambassador Antonio O. Garza.
Ambassador Garza went on to say: “On Thursday, Mexican law enforcement agents recovered 19 month-old Alejandra Gomez in Puebla, Mexico. The fugitive Gildardo Rosas Rodriguez, age 31, is still at large. Rosas Rodriguez is wanted by police in San Diego for kidnapping and is a suspect in the murder of his former girlfriend, Emilia Gomez, the infant’s mother.
“We are grateful to Mexican law enforcement agencies for finding and returning young Alejandra Gomez to child protective authorities in San Diego, who will arrange for the infant to be placed with members of her family,” he added.
